Greetings! My name is Batu, and I'm a second-year PhD student in physics at the University of Minnesota. I graduated from Boğaziçi University with a double major in physics and mathematics in 2023.
I'm mainly interested in phenomena that touch both condensed matter and high energy physics, especially in systems in condensed matter that admit a quantum field theoretical description. I'm also interested in topics related to exotic phases of matter and quantum information. Currently, I'm working to understand the properties of particular non-invertible symmetries formulated on the lattice and the relationship between them and their continuum counterparts in 1+1 dimensions.
